This is my favourite game! Hunting season is divided into two periods: early season, between 15th April and 15th May, rutting season between 1st August and 15th August.

I recommend to our guests the season between 15th April and 15th May. The vegetation is smaller in this time, forests and agricultural areas are even more transparent – this makes it easier to hunt.

Rutting (mating) period is a unique hunting experience which varies depending on the weather and location; usually it takes from 3rd week of July till 2nd week of August. Deer is shepherd by whistle, using doe call signal, the signal voice is heard like the voice of complaint or alarm-signal of a fawn. In this case, old roebucks may also be shoot down, that are very cautious another time. Sometimes roebucks could appear what cannot be seen during the whole spring season.

Due to habitat conditions as well as planned and outstanding wildlife management the Hungarian roe staffs are excellent.
The roe trophies from Hungary are among the world leaders what also proof the outstanding quality of roe wildlife management.

Roe trophies can be divided into two groups according the quality: meadow and forest (ecotype).
The average trophy’s weight is 300-450 gram from meadow. The best roebuck places in Great Plain: County of Szolnok,-Békés,-Szabolcs and Hajdú-Bihar.
The weight of the trophy from forest is significant smaller than from meadow; the average trophy’s weight is 150-300 gram.

Roe population is significant in the areas of Transdanubia and North-Central-Mountains, the quality level is average.
Habitat: farmland scattered fields, forest edges and meadows dotted with shrubs and undergrowth rich forests. Roe like to rest on the land in early summer then on the safety of the high-lying cereals.

After the nuptials of the roebuck we do not have too much time to relax, a new hunting season is coming!
1st September – The highly anticipated deer-bell time begins, the kings of big game in the country’s forests, one of our top picks for the big game – the red deer time. We recommend hunting them in September, during mating-, bellow- time.

The bellow itself is very various, depending on the weather and the area. Our country earned a worthy reputation because of the quality level of hunting. The Western European staffs are significant, but the quality is represented in the Central European portfolio, our country is the leader. Their habitat is in the forests’ undergrowth, in rich parkland forests, in bordering agricultural areas which are important for feeding. Hungary’s deer population is great due genetics, habitat conditions as well the conscious wildlife management. We organize hunting for our guests into the best hunting area of Hungary, Szigetvár, county Baranya, we are in contact with four Hunter companies. In these areas, the main rutting period runs from 1st until 20th September, according the needs we can organize hunting between weights of 7-12 kg trophies.

The deer population is significant, but the quality level is average in Western- and Northern-Transdanubia as well in North-Central-Mountains. Because of the shift of the weather the bellow period takes from 15th September until 10th October, according the needs we can organize hunting between weights of 3-8 kg trophies.

As the mating time of Red deer is over, then the mating time of Fallow-deer starts early of October, called as rutting Red deer is the most beautiful residential of our forests – it is clear from the intelligence and appearance from other big game.

In October the most effective and beautiful hunting method is stalking as well as rutting. During this time there is a great chance almost all day long to hunt stags.

Our Hunting take place in North-East of Great Plain, 30 km far from City Debrecen, in the Forest Gúthi. Thanks to wildlife management and the excellent results of last decade, significant habitat of fallow deer population developed. The successes reflect in the World Records from 1991 and 2002.

According the needs we can organize hunting for 2, 5 kg-4, 5/5kg during October.

Hungary’s fallow deer population is great due genetics, habitat conditions as well the sure-footed wildlife management. Fallow deer is a significant big game, like the closed garden maintenance, 300-500 acres of garden ensure the success of hunt.

Many hunter say that moufflon ram is that kind of big game, whose trophy, at least one, should be in the collection of a hunter! Who does not feel in good enough condition seeks after game in the Rocky Mountains, I would like to reassume the less sporty guests moving no reason to despair, because I am in connection with some hunting area where moufflon  can be hunt from high-stand. Sporty hunt enthusiasts can find their calculations in all moufflon areas, there are many possibilities for stalking in North-Central Mountains, moreover, because moufflon is a day living game, so guests could walk all day long after them.

Hunting of moufflon is not easy; usually it is the most successful in rutting time, middle of November. Bucks knock together their horns; this reveals their location from afar. Due to habitat conditions and living capability they can be hunt during daylight and from high-stand.
Occurrence: in the mountains of Hungary, usually in isolated locations. The most significant occurrence of the Hills of –Mátra,- Buda,-Börzsöny,-Bükk, -Pilis, – Vértes and Zemplén. Their occurrence is determined by climate, altitude, topography, soil and vegetation. The Central Mountains height is optimal for them, they like the stony soil, older forest bounded by agricultural land. Their forestry damages are significant because of feeding and trampling.

The trophy of the buck is the constantly growing horn of rams head, co-called pulley. The intensive growth takes 4 years long then by age 6-7 will slowly stop. It is esteemed and valuable trophy of hunters, we can guarantee up to 60-80cm. In certain cases, by prior agreement, we can provide greater dimensions. So if you want more trophies, please indicate.

Most popular beast of hunting, boars and gilts can be hunted year-around, it can be shot successfully with every other wild game. There are some hunting methods besides summer agricultural damage hunting; however the most popular of the winter hunt. The best wild boar period is between 1st November and 31st January.

In Hungary there can be found almost everywhere, it is proving that great adaptability.  The spread and stand are the highest in West-Hungary and Northern Mountains. The most popular big beast of folding, they also are up-kept in boar preserve. It has enormous body and lives private and makes faster the beat of hunters’ hearts.

The pheasant is a non-native bird of our country. The pheasant’ native is Asia. It is spread across in Europe since the 8th century, mainly in the form of settling. The pheasants of our country are raised by crossing of many subspecies. There were some species of pheasants settled during the 19th and 20th centuries from Asia into different countries of Europe as well Hungary too. The settled subspecies were mixed with domestic pheasants and the hybrid results were called as “hunters’ pheasants”.  This carries in appearance some dominant feature of the subspecies. The colours of pheasant cock is colourful, the hen’s colour is simple; it is our most important small game.
It consumes small weed seed and different arthropods. It likes to sit on the tree especially during snowy wintertime, because it feels safer on there. Demand of pheasant hunting has been high since beginning of the last century. Pheasant breeding colonies have been developed to replace the natural growth, where there the necessary conditions have been artificially provided.

The Hungarian wild pheasant is not protected, it can be hunted. The pheasant hunt is traditional (U-drive), in addition with seeker dogs.
We offer hunting on hilly countryside. The real winter hunting provides unforgettable hunting experiences, with topography, existing pheasant hiding places and wild lands for hunting interests – designed specifically for this purpose – and conscientious work done during the growing period.

Especially our English style drive is very popular; we have several offers to our foreign and domestic guests. We organize hunting near to area of Budapest and area of North-Central Mountains; the pheasant is raised in outside since spring time.
During the English style hunting a group with 8-10 people stay between two hills on the densely covered area and the drivers start the drive for a given signal. The pheasant fly over that valley at height of 40-50 meters. This hunting is very popular among the English and Scottish guests. The most important aquatic species is the wild Mallard and it is expected to remain in the future. Its importance is also proofed that the ducks are hunted in our country gives 88-90% of this species. Wide spread layers provide hunting opportunities for several needs; however farmer gets appropriate income through hunting.
Featherings are different by nuptial plumage of Male-and Female-Mallard as long as during summer they are both rusty coloured with dark drawn. The drake’s head is shiny metallic green; a tiny white ring divides the auburn pouch and breast. The back is grey-brown; the belly is greyish-white. It is spread all over in Hungary’s wet places – hence the proliferation of a wide range of home, especially during the migration and wintering.

NUTRITION:
It consumes small weed seed and different plants’ parts. The traditional hunting of mallard is the traction; the duck leave the water in the morning and arrive on it in the evening. They are hunted on agricultural areas too, where they go to eat.
Hunting by search dogs may be successfully beside the channel coast.

The partridge is a native bird of our country, the inhabitants of a large grassy area. Unfortunately, the intensive agriculture and changed climatic conditions are not favourable for this outstanding winged bird. The stock data shows, that the number pf the population reduced from 1, 5 million into one-fifth portion from 1930, during 15 years long, only 120 thousand pieces left by 1980. The current situation is much more critical, it is almost gone! There are very few wild populations are held accountable.

Characteristic:
The ordinary partridge live in our country. Its back is light brown with darker and lighter patches, jaw and throat are rust coloured, with red bare spots around the eyes, belly is white with large brown spots, lower wing coverts are white, tail is rust-red, the middle four pen are stripped by grey and brown.  Its colour varies otherwise. The membrane is covered with wax beak slight bluish grey; nose pit is bare, its body is stocky. Her feet are reddish brown. Its length is 26 cm; wing’s length is 16 cm; tail length is 8cm.

Reproduction:
It is strictly monogamous, many couples end their lives are holding each other. In late April the hen scratches a minor pit and lay 10-20 pieces of eggs into this. Only the female brood, the minor leaves the nest. They make teams with their parents and stay together by next spring, when they split up to establish new couples.

Nutrition:
It consumes small weed seed and different plants’ parts.

Hunting is only allowed in those areas where population is replaced by intensive breeding; practically almost exclusively bred partridge are hunted.

The traditional partridge hunting with happens with dogs.

The hare is the most important fur small game. Its hunting is significant.
The capture of live-hare is also important for the wildlife management, what are mainly exported to Italy. There are about 80-100 thousand hare are shot, or rather 30-45 thousands are sold.

In Europe can be found in all habitats except cooler Northern- and High-Pitched areas, but it likes the transparent deciduous forest, agricultural and grasslands. It is much larger than the rabbit, body length is 40-75 cm, and weight ranges from 1,3kg to 1,6kg. Basic colour is a characteristic of wild colours, the mixture of yellow and brown. It is prolific; it brings birth cubs up to 9 and 3-4 times a year. The cubs are born already with hair and opened eyes, they can run next day and the mother separates them after a week.
The traditional hunting of hare is U-drive, besides it takes with dogs as well.
