2017 FeHoVa Hunting Exhibition

The annual Hunting Exhibition was held between 9^th -12^th February 2017. Being the venue of 300 exhibitors presenting products and services representing 17 countries, this is the most significant exhibition in Central Europe concerning arms, fishing and hunting organized by HUNGEXPO Zrt. Not only the area covered by the exhibitors but also the number of visitors of this event has been increasing year by year reaching 60 000 in 2016 from all over the world.

The Largest Red Deer Trophy in 2016

In mid-September a red deer buck trophy in Baranya County earned countywide the strongest scores of all times. The paired 22, gigantic trophy has high parameters. The circumference of the coronet is 34 cm and the overall weight of the trophy is 14,85kg. The county scoring committee evaluated it with 261,08 points. The first level results bring this trophy to the 14^th place in the world rank; in the national Hungarian list it takes the 7^th position.

African Swine Fever Virus Appears Close to Hungarian Border

In the neighborhood of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border the virus of African swine fever has been detected. According to the announcements the disease is harmless for humans but is extremely dangerous concerning domestic swine as well as wild boars since there is no antidote to it. However, this particular disease has not appeared in Hungary yet and for this reason the National Office for Food Safety has brought the importance of prevention to the attention of farmers, hunters and citizens.

Avian Flu

In Hungary the bird flu has already reached seven counties having entered Győr-Moson-Sopron and Veszprém during the second half of January. Virus H5N8 has been found in the infected birds

Extremely Cold Winter

The main task during wintertime is feeding of wild animals. This activity has gained on its importance this winter since there were times when 30-50cm snow fell down within 2 days time. Freezing nights when temperature remained below  -10°C along with the significant layers of snow meant much more work and a huge task in feeding the wildlife. Feeding means much more than providing nutrition, it also means that wild animals remain at a certain territory and become concentrated there. As a consequence, not only chewing damages are eliminated but more importantly trophy quality increases.

Spring is on its way launching the long awaited roebuck hunting!

Why Hungary? Even though other parts of Europe offer roebuck hunting along with great services to this experience, still it is in Hungary where we can guarantee high quality /exceeding 500g/ roebucks.
